I attended the leadership training given by the Light of Jesus Community the whole day today. Light of Jesus is the group behind Kerygma Feast, which I attend every Sunday at the Valle Verde Country Club. I have also been attending its Caring Group. It is a small group of 6 other attendees of the Feast. Our head is Tita Aida Dy (also the head of the Anawim Ministry. We hold our meetings at her house in Greenhills every other Saturday. Last July, she invited me to attend the LOJ leadership training. I was very happy about it because I felt it is about time that I serve in the community. It’s like an answered prayer. I have received a lot of blessings the past years and it is time that I give back to the community. I want to share not only my treasure but my talent and time, as well. So, I attended the training. Today was the last of the series of talks. Today we were anointed as God’s servants and I couldn’t be more grateful! It was truly overwhelming. Here are some of the passages imparted to us:
“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the abundance of your heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Matthew 12:33-37
“For we all make many mistakes, and if anyone makes no mistakes in what he says is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also. If we put bits into the mouths of horses that they may obey us, we guide their whole bodies. Look at the ships also; though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire!”
James 3:2-5
“Let your conversation be full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
Colossians 4:6
I honestly feel so humbled by these passages. I am very much guilty of saying careless words. I have done a lot of bad to many people. Kaya nga hindi talaga ako worthy sa anointment. Kaya lang, there I was, I accepted this great task of being “the salt of the earth,” so to speak. Tough call but by God’s grace, sana I could live up to what I was called to do.
Sabi sa talk, saltiness:
Enables the world to move smoothly in the direction and purpose God wants us to take;
Helps the world digest the life-saving truth of God’s Word. The nutrients of the Word of God feeds and strengthens the world; and,
Salt is evident in “Blood, Sweat and Tears:” Blood, Sweat and Tears are evidence of life. The world will know that Christ is alive because our saltiness gives life and manifests the love and mercy of Jesus.
I feel so privileged being in the “banquet of the Lord.”
