I got my chocolates!
Bpet gave me three boxes and greeted me "Happy Valentines!" And he had to apologize that those were not from his home country. He bought them in Thailand on his way to the Philippines. Hehehe...
I arrived more than an hour late at the hotel but he did not care. (traffic, traffic, traffic!) He was more apologetic that he was not able to receive my call because he was taking a bath when the phone rang. Hahaha... Prime example of being lenient to others and rigid to yourself. St. Josemaria Escriva would surely be proud of him.
It's really nice to see him again. It's been four (almost 5) years since we last met. He looks much much better now. We went out a couple of times when we were in Japan. Hehe... He is the same old Bpet that I knew- sincere, refined, polite, comfortable to be with. I really love being with such kind of people. I was most impressed when he told me that he prefers to live in the province, where everyone knows everybody else and life is simple and the environment is fresh and tranquil and relaxed. Haha... He is not Catholic but I think he would pass as a Trappist Monk. Haha...
I admire him!
What I like most about him is his being sharp about issues of decency and discipline. I think he would not be caught being in an embarrassing situation- because he would not even think about doing it. For me he is an epitome of integrity and probity. Very manly!
We had to bring along his companion who turned out to be more outspoken than Bpet and I. :P But Bpet did not care. There were times I noticed him being cut by Kone and he just let it pass. Secured in his person. Kind and charitable.
We talked for 5 hours, ate for 2 1/2 hours, stood in line for a cab for 2 hours, and waited to be seated in the restaurant for 30 minutes but nobody complained! We were all just happy in each other's company and gladly passing the time with our cool, fun exchanges. Really amazing!
I wish more (best if all) people are like him. Myself, included. Then we would have peace and contentment and happiness.
Happy St. Valentine's day!
