I am so happy to have been given the opportunity to chat for a while with my dear brother who cooked dinner tonight. Haha. Happiness. I love summer! (minus the sun burn)
Speaking of summer, my gosh it’s burning here in RP! Temperature’s 34ยบ mid days. Good thing I go to the office in the morning when it’s still cool and go home when the sun’s already down. But some days I go out to attend meetings and other events. During those rare times, I could not escape the summer heat! Waah… Just have to be thankful that I haven’t suffered from heat stroke.
CENTER ON GOD AND SIMPLIFY.
Need to take note of these verses. I will go back to these every once in a while.
Matthew 6:19-21
Simplicity is having a center: God. Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:33
Do not be anxious about your life, what you shalleat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these shall be yours as well.
Philippians 4:11
I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content.
Sirach 37:29-31
Do not have an insatiable appetite for any luxury and do not give yourself up to food; for over eating brings sickness and gluttony leads to nausea. Many have died of gluttony, but he who is careful to avoid it prolongs life.
Proverbs 11:28
He who trusts in his riches will wither.
I AM A WOMAN
Proverbs 31:18-19,25-26
She is girt about with strength and sturdy are her arms. She enjoys the success of her dealings; at night her light is undimmed… She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs at the days to come. She opens her mouth in wisdom and on her tongue is kindly counsel.
Proverbs 31:10-12
When one finds a worthy wife, her value is far beyond pearls. Her husband, entrusting her heart to her, has an unfailing prize. She brings him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.
Proverbs 31:21-22
She reaches out her hands to the poor and extends her arms to the needy. She fears not the snow for her household; all her charges are doubly clothed.
Proverbs 31:27-29
She opens her mouth in wisdom and on her tongue is kindly counsel. She watches the conduct of her household and eats not her food in idleness. Her children rise up and praise her; her husband, too, extols her. Many are the women of proven worth, but you have excelled them all.
Proverbs 31:13-16
She obtains wool and flax and makes cloth with skillful hands. Like merchant ships, she secures her provisions from afar. She rises while it is still night and distributes food to her household. She picks out a field to purchase; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
Some simple conditions foster prayer. It presupposes a well-ordered life, not hectic, with emotional security. To turn your thoughts continually to God, you need some relaxation, sleep and a healthy, well-balanced diet.
